So does the song "Catch all the fish" by Brad Paisley, but that's a pretty cool song. Then again, he's talking about going fishing in a boat with a cooler full of beer..... :D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RJEsSgSW5DU
We all listen to songs with lyrics we don't agree with almost every single day. I say who cares about the song.
i agree its a irresponsible sounding song. don't hate on Luke bryan because of one song. how.many of u even listen to him besides the song on the original post? the guy has some really good songs. listen to "muckalee creek water" or "harvest time". might change some peoples minds about how bad he "sucks" Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk 2
Luke Bryan Tailgate Blues with lyrics - YouTube this is my favorite song right now by him followed by muckalee creek water
This thread reminds of the outrage everyone felt about the song "5 o'clock Somewhere". You know when Alan and Jimmy were singing about getting smashed and driving their boats around. Wait a second...that never happened because noone gave a crap about that songs lyrics because they were all too busy singing along, probably with some gay umbrella drink in their hand. As far as this song, it sucks but I'm sure some mouth breather somewhere will love it and live it and that doesn't really bother me.
It has already been established it is ok to drink and fish(even in a boat) but when you mention hunting and beer it gets crazy. Some kind of weird double standard. It's not that I approve of getting sloshed and doing either of those activities I just find hypocrisy amusing.
I don't agree at all personally. Do I do a beer here or there when spending a day fishing yeah every now and then. Do I ever mix drinking with guns...never...to do so is a losing battle with credibility as a gun owner. Just my personal thoughts. And it's been established that yeah Alan Jackson sang some drinking songs...not a fan of them either to be honest (catchy or not)...but there is a whole higher level of stupid when guns get involved.
Not that I disagree with you or anything but for every guy like you or myself who likes to have a couple every now and then there are guys that like to have a couple dozen. A boat can be pretty deadly, thousands of accidents & injuries every year and hundreds of deaths(650+/2012). Not as deadly as a car or a gun maybe but comparing levels of deadliness is probably pointless, they are all deadly and when you add alcohol even moreso. Do you lose credibility as a boat owner when drinking and boating?
Having a double standard (in this case viewing two similar activities as having different rules) and being a hypocrite (preaching against something that you do yourself) are two different things. I see no hypocrisy in someone believing it's acceptable to drink while fishing and believing it's wrong to drink while hunting. It's not wrong to drink while fishing. It is, of course, illegal to operate a motorized boat while under the influence. I know that everywhere I fish I could get an under the influence charge just like I can on the road. That being said, I don't drink at all while I'm bass fishing. I need my motor skills and reflexes unimpaired for bass fishing. Now I'd love to set up camp, sit on a riverbank and cast out some lines for catfish with a big cooler of beer by my side. You know, that sounds so relaxing. I might just have to do that sometime soon.
This is why I don't bass fish. Id rather have a beer.:D Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
I get what you're saying but if someone says to me don't drink and (insert potentially dangerous activity) while they drink and (insert potentially dangerous activity) I think it's a bit hypocritical. jmo
Honestly I'd say yes you do...hence why I only drink and fish on the banks of ponds I frequent or when someone else is operating the boat (usually pops) . I hear ya though.
One of the best live shows I've ever seen... and I've seen a BUNCH! Great guy, horrible song.... but harmless.
It's ironic to discuss on the internet, where we don't use our real names, however it needs to be pointed out I guess. Entertainment is not reality. Jeff Foxworthy is joking. Luke Bryan is singing. Robert De Niro was acting. They did not do these things in real life.
Well the image that song presents is exactly why i am hunting archery now , here if you get out of a truck and pull out your rifle you may as well have called 911 every body but the air force shows up to find out what your doing , pull out the bow and put on the backpack and nobody even notices you , sorry my feeling is he is presenting a really bad image that reflects on us all ....
Tylan Miller I live at 11230 Harrison Road Osceola, IN 46561. No excuse or reason for stuff like this is justified in my opinion. You do it for entertainment: sell out. You do it for money: sell out. You do it to become famous: sell out. Luke Bryan has a ton of skill and yes some of his songs I like, would even venture to say love...however one cannot sell any justification in my opinion for "glorifying" making terrible and in this case illegal choices. When people reach a status of "celebrity" of any degree they should, although many don't, hold themselves to a higher standard than most because more eyes are on them. Yes no one is perfect, yes we all screw up, yes mistake and misguided choices occur...however the number of steps that go into writing a song, choosing a set list, making a joke list for standup take a lot of time=chances to choose to keep a higher level of character. Just my opinion. Of course many feel differently and that's fine, entertainment is entertainment in some people's minds.
