It's Five O' Clock Somewhere Designated Drinker I don't Even Know Your Name Margaritaville Pop a Top Your Not Drinking Enough No common theme there at all.
Did anyone actually make it all the way through the "song". I had to bail after a minute. Not only were the lyrics horrible, the presentation sucked as well. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
Most country songs have a drinking theme, but there's a little difference in what they're singing about. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
It's one thing to have a beer before going out for an evening hunt. Something totally different to go out and get smashed while hunting. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
Exactly. With 48 #1's and 200 plus recorded it's rare. "killing" a twelve pack while deer hunting with a lethal weapon is a whole new level of ignorant.
He's an entertainer. His job is to sing songs and entertain. Nobody should really look that far into what the words say. If an individual doesn't like the words, they have the option not to listen to it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk www.skyangler.com
That is so true...but opinions of and character is built by what we do and release with our jobs, work and such. Now I realize this is quite a few years ago and perhaps Luke does have regrets with it...not knowing we discuss what we know. It was a distasteful song lyric wise, my opinion it wasn't good musically either and to top it all off it doesn't shine a good light on the writer, singer and anyone else involved. <-all of this is obviously nothing more than shere personal opinion.
Fair enough. Are the same people that have issues with this song the same people that brought uproar about Eminem's lyrics in the early 2000's and NWA's lyrics about killing police officers in the 80's? Or did you not pay attention to those and just choose not to listen to the music or not not to get involved? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk www.skyangler.com
I can only speak for myself, and I for one have always been a huge fan of music in general. I even operated a music blog for a while that would take secular artists and review their albums song by song based on their lyrical content. It was very eye opening to notice things I hadn't before and share them with people. I've had many a conversation with the youth (was a youth leader for 7 years) about the music they listen to and it's always amazed me how often people almost don't even notice or realize what they're listening to and supporting by buying the music of the artists discussed. I did it myself so I could relate. I was a huge rap fan and to be honest still am, it's the honesty and unabashed delivery which attracts me (I only listen to solid Christian artists which happen to rap now though); but back in the day I loved DMX, Tupac, Bone Thugs and more....it wasn't until I had a huge heart to heart with a great friend of mine that I realized what I listened to. Music is a huge industry and a part of nearly every civilization that has ever existed...nearly since the beginning of time a form of music has always been part of mankind. It is entwined in each of us and what we listen to is at the least a glimpse of who we are...can be good or can be bad. I'll stop now because music is one of the things outside of hunting and God I could talk about forever.
