We got a couple pics of this buck earlier this year. He didn't know how good his rack was when he shot. He told me he had shot a little buck. I was thinking much smaller because he is more about meat than anything else. He used a nocturnal and knew it was hit well. We waited 1 1/2 hours. He was sure that he hit it perfectly. He wanted to go 1/2 hour after he shot. I made him wait another hour based on what others have said on this site. He didn't make it 30 yards. Didn't hear him go down though. While we were waiting I rattled in another 8 point buck that was probably a little nicer. It drove my dad nuts that I didn't shoot it. His was nicer than he originally thought though. Question? The 8 point I rattled in ran off once he got downwind of where the kill occurred. Would a deer spook because they could smell blood? It may have been us, but we are really careful about scent and haven't been detected all year. Here is a picture. He does hunt in camo by the way. Just not in the picture. The buck's antlers almost touch in the middle. Probably an inch apart. Fun hunt.
