not sure what exactly but im pretty sure it was a kazaway rest and he was using aluminum arrows that are 20 years old and a thumb release but what we think happened some how the release went flying hit the rest bent it. and now we cant find the release 200 dollars down the drain in a matter of seconds.
More than likely the release went somewhere off to the left of where he was shooting. Try to get a strap on that release for next time.
I know the guy who makes the Kazaway rest, and I can honestly say that I wouldn't use one (or any other Vital Bow Gear Product) if he paid me. Buy a whisker biscuit and move on with your life.
Yea the invasion is awesome defiantly my pick if someone wanted to by one. My drenalion wasn't even close to how fast it was same weight and he has a smaller draw length. The only thing I wish it had was the mathewes extreme look but perfomance why's better in my opinion. Just a bummer he only had the thing for a week
I have the Octane Pro on my Invasion , i wasnt ever a fan of them when i had one before on another bow that wore the crap out of the brushes , But this Invasion dont wear them at all , probally got a few thousand shots on it and the brushes are still like brand new , i would suggest that rest for that bow .
You do not hear much about the Hostage Rest. Great rest. I have that and a whisker biscuit on my bows. I don't know which one I like more! Can't go wrong either way. Never heard of someone shooting their release into their rest, but I bet it happens more than I expect. Never shot a thumb release, always a wrist sling. Hope your dad gets it fixed up and ready for the upcoming season.
Got to love the pro shop since he just bought the bow last weekend they replaced the rest no fee with insulation and he just picked up an old release
