I have been having problems with the d-loop on my bow slipping on my string which is making my shot go either low or high. Does anyone know a quick way to fix this or do I need to take it to a bow shop? thanks
D-loop pliers are wonderful for this. If you don't have them, you can use needle nose backwards. First get the loop where it needs to be. Then insert the needle nose into the loop closed and pry open the players. This will tighten the loop knots.
I say go to the shop. If you manage it yourself that would be good to. I had a new loop installed a few weeks back and the ends are burned, and pressed flat to create the locking knot..hard to explain but this loop needs to be right. Good luck bra-
Here is a video to watch. I tied my own thanks to this video and it's been spot on. Good luck! How to Tie a D-Loop on a Bow by Draves Archery - YouTube
I also like to use a pair of serving knots on the inside of the loop on the string. It not only helps keep the D-loop in place, but if I need to replace it, I know my nocking point doesn't change.
