D-loop for sure. The guy probably just didn't like tying them on, or didn't know how to. I wouldn't go without one.

This is what I was wondering too!! Solid or string d-loop? I use a metal d-ring, but when I get my bow re-strung, considering going back to a string d-loop. Only due to the fact that the metal dloop is assumably heavier than a string dloop(affecting arrow speed although not affecting it much) I can understand why it could be seen as dangerous too.

Absolutely shoot a loop less torque on the string and longer life expectancy without the wear and tear on the string!

I don't think I'd wanna shoot a release on a bare string, just doesn't seem like it'd feel right.

I use a torque-less loop. I like it better than the D-loop. NO chance of it coming untied.

Metal loops can be hard on your release and if they do happen to come off, hard on equipment and dangerous.

that makes sense. when i was a little kid I dry fired my dads bow and all the stuff flew off the string. Atleast I learned on a cheap setup! He wasn't overly angry. Although I do have to say if my son did that, I might have to kick his ***! Damn Kids!

I use one and love it, I'm sure there are some people out there that don't like them because that is another item that could potentially fail. As long as their tied correctly I don't see a problem with them.
