Wow, D!ck Trickle, NASCAR legend shoots himself at the age of 71. Sad.

Wonder what would cause him to do this?

Oh man, that stinks. I remember back in the day when SportsCenter was actually good they would never forget to mention **** Trickle when announcing race results.

"And in today's race, **** Trickle finished 87th"

Should we cry, Dan? Suicide is tragic ... but it is hard for me to feel sorry for the guy when he chose to do it ... I feel horrible for his family ...who knows, maybe he had some illness that messed him up in the head ... either that or he was unstable and when all the lights went off of him he couldn't stand it .... tragic, no matter what ...

As I was watching stuff about him last night I was reminded of the constant fights in here about nascar drivers being athletes. I watched a video of him in his car with his leg propped up and him lighting and smoking a cig. Yep...stone cold athlete right there....

 

And the video posted at the same time as my post is exactly what I was talking about...lol

Say or do whatever you feel like there good preacher. I've never walked in the man's shoes, so I can't judge him. I just believe in respecting people a little bit more after they die, no matter how it happened.

 

Why is this?

When my father passed I respected him the same as when he was alive.

 

You misread what I meant. I meant that apparently I respect people enough (more than others here apparently) that after they're dead I won't make jokes about them.

Just my opinion but if you're comfortable with it, by all means have at it.
