I have read that these arrows will drop dramatically past 40 yards. Is this true? Anyone have first hand experience with this happening? Thanks for the help.
They are a heavier arrow, which makes them a bit slower. And the slower an arrow, the more they will start to drop, especially at 40+. Having said that, I shoot my PileDrivers out to 80 yards without issue. They are a great arrow, and they hit hard!
I have a dozen of them, they are heavier than most and pack a lot of punch on target. The finish is more durable than unfinished carbon arrows, they don't peel with heavy practice. All heavy arrows drop more at longer ranges, they also hit much harder at longer ranges too. I've had absolutely no issues with them, they are very consistent and about as durable as a carbon arrow gets.
I don't think I would use anything other than piledrivers now. They are a tiny bit slower than my buddy's lighter arrows but they bury a lot deeper into the target. Phenominal hunting arrow. Very durable.
I've shot mine out to 100yards yes they drop but I shoot my bow set at 81lbs so even at 501grns the drop isn't that bad Dan
How much of a drop are talking? I shot a Bowtech RPM 360 set at 65 lbs with a 28" DL. My arrow weight would be between 465 and 480. Would the drop past 40 yds be great.
