    I agree, deer raised for meat sale is one thing, but to have super duper antlered deer via steroids, supplemental minerals and gentic breeding is asinine.

    Creating the perfect buck for a $25,000+ client is ridiculous when it comes to "trophy" hunters with millions of dollars to spend.

    I wonder how many truly wild cases of CWD can be verified. I'm talking areas where it has never been recorded and no deer farms exist within a 200 mile radius.

    Mineral blocks and any other "help the herd" which are actually grow the antlers products should be looked into as well.

    If what was stated by @dnoodles is true about bucks having the higher mortality rate then I would tend to believe antler obsession has a lot to do with it.

    FWIW, Wisconsin banned mineral blocks.

    And I stated bucks have higher infection rates, not mortality rates. Mortality rate is 100% unless killed by something else first
