Our farm is right in the heart of the cwd zone and our family eats every deer we shoot. We have knowingly eaten at least 4 deer with cwd and probably a lot more. No health problems thus far. If CWD is so prevalent and supposed to always be fatal, why aren't we finding hundreds dead each year? We have 300 acres and walk all of it each spring looking for sheds, and even after the harshest of winters, the most deer we have ever found dead has been 3. We run 10+ trail cameras each year and so far have only captured 1 deer that appeared sick (ribs showing). People should be more worried about diseases such as EHD, which can take out a whole herd in months, or focus more on predator control, because these two things impact the deer herd more than "CWD" ever will.
