For some odd reason I have this desire to get a wrist sling again, although I haven't shot or hunted with one is probably 4 years. Chances are I'll use it for a week and then take it off, but I still want one. Trouble is - I want a nice one that's black/gray to match my bow. I'm kind of chick-like when it comes to that.

So where can I get one? Any referrals and experiences to share?

Wherever you buy it from you should get a skirt to go with it.

Sling makers are like string makers; there's a ton of quality ones out there, and most have their bevy of ardent followers who'll claim "theirs" is the best. ;) I've seen good work by many of them.

I personally have bought six or seven slings from Slingbraid... very low price (I'm thinking I paid around $12 apiece for them or something like that?), and does extremely quality work ....

Here's a couple examples of two different styles I've had him make for me:

Though this one is a red/black combo as well, the one above is looped differently. The one below is "woven" instead of looped. Just a different look.

Here's one I ordered and sold (that's why I had the pic of it like this) when I thought BowTech was going to dip my first Destroyer 340 in Deception Brown. I ended up getting it in Fall Gray, so I never used it.

I'll be sure to inquire if they are available at the time of purchase. When I'm filming you this fall just try not to look up it.

Thanks for the links gents. :tu:

Greg any idea if that is just nylon or the paracord the survival bracelets with the same design are made of?

Another huge vote for Slingbraid. I've bought one for everyone of my bows.

If this one was flipped it would show more of the gray. This might be what your looking for JZ.

I believe it's the paracord... not sure if he says on his site or not.

Paracord is nice... holding 550lbs with a single piece is pretty impressive. Makes for some improv survival gear if you ever need it.

Guess it could also be the 450 stuff too though:busted:

I've ordered several from Slingbraid as well, and they're all top notch. I have everything from neon green/black, to neutral gray/silver/forest green, they've all been excellent.

I've been looking for one myself but never thought about NOT using one.

My bow came with one and I just assumed I needed it. I've got a Mathews Monster and I'm just trying to keep it as light as possible without to much stuff on it.

There real easy to make....nothing more than a series of knots. I'll make you one for free if I can find some black and gray. What style do you have in mind...cobra, half hitch, snake, squar...

The two pics that Greg posted...the first is a half hitch bread, the second is a cobra bread. Ben's pic is also a cobra bread.....I actually like and recommend the half hitch.

What kind of bracket is that holding the sling on the bow? It looks very "clean"!

Ohh and another vote for Slingbraid, I have had many made from them and they all turned out great!

I just bought a cheap one from Fleet Farm for $8. Maybe when I get a different bow, or want to colour match a bit more, I'll get custom.

Always good to know different options

Slings N Things is a retailer on AT. I ordered mine from her and it showed up in 2 days. I think she's from Springfield, IL. It was only like $12-14
