Finally got my buck on the wall. To save some money, I had my dad make the plaque instead of getting one from the taxidemist. Dad made out of honey locust that came off of his place. He used a grinder to make it look like a real indian arrowhead. What do you guys think of it?

Looks very cool and add some deer hoof's coming out of each half circle would be icing on the cake.

Thanks guys for all the feedback. I'll ask my dad if he might be interested in making more. He's 78, so I don't think he'll be making large quanities. Supplies could be limited, maybe one of a kind!

I am "a less is more" kind of guy. When I do my mounts I always try to bring the form back to life essentially at the moment I took a life. It helps evoke the memories of the hunt. Adding unnatural objects to the form would be taboo for me. In this case, however, you have added many layers of memories. Years from now you'll look at that buck with great reverence. Be proud of it!. It represents "a job well done". Do yourself a favor and keep the plaque unique. It will mean that much more.

Here are a few more dad has made over the years. He always seems to come up with something unique.

My son shot this little fork with his bow when he was 14. First time he ever sat in a treestand alone.
