Two years ago, I bought a new Cuddeback IR and got some really good pictures. Last year, I decided to add a second Cuddeback IR. Towards the end of last year, the first Cuddeback that I bought started giving us trouble. We would get it set up and turn it on, the countdown would start, we would close it and leave. We would come back a few weeks later to check and the delay counter would be frozen and only a few pics had been taken before it would freeze up. Luckily this happened at the end of the year and we put it away chalking it up to a fluke experience. The 2nd Cuddeback worked well. Then came this year. Both cameras worked well for about a month, then after that it was one issue after another. With the 1st one, the delay counter would get frozen about every other time. This times it did not freeze and take zero pictures, it would work fine and take good pics. Then, the 2nd one kept showing up as "battery low", even though I just put brand new batteries in there. It quit taking daytime pics and started taking a lot of "blacked out" pics. I was wondering if anybody has had any of these issues with a Cuddeback IR before, and if so, what they had to do to get them fixed. For the price of these cameras, they have not even been close to getting their moneys worth. Plus, having to superglue the clear plastic screen constantly gets annoying. I stupidly purchased both of these before doing my research. After I found this site and other trail cam review sites, I purchased a Bushness Trophy Cam for this year and it has worked really well. Any help would be appreciated.
Many of there cameras do that. I had a Cuddeback Capture flash camera and it wouldn't count down either and it was under a year old, so I sent it back with the original receipt and they claimed they fixed it but it was broke within 2 weeks. If your camera is under a year old and you have the original receipt, they will fix it for free but if its a year old or older you will have to pay to have them fix it.
I have two Flash ones that I bought a year and a half ago and neither one of the works. Good thing I didn't pay full price for them. They make decent paper weights!
Thanks for the replies. After visiting Cuddeback's website's support forum and seeing the numerous threads of people talking about defective cameras and Cudde's terrible customer service, I had a feeling that these were going to be the replies. I am going to call Cudde and see what they say and how much it would be to fix them. Unless they make some major changes, I personally will never even consider purchasing anything else from them.
I put one out a few weeks ago in a spot I didn't want to put a good camera, because I was afraid of theft. Fresh batteries lasted 32 pictures. I brought it back to the cabin and threw it in the garbage. Which is where all of the Cuddes we've owned over the years have ended up.
