Has anyone used this? I'm getting a trail cam for a bear bait station this spring. I'm lookin at the cuddeback capture flash because i've heard alot of good about them. I want to know if the " bear proof " cover is made of actual tough metal or if its chinsy sheet metal. I don't want to drop 200 bucks on a trail cam and another 40 on a security box if its just gonna end up a bear turd. How does the Bushnell trophy cam compare to the cuddeback?
I have the Cuddeback Capture flash but I don't have a Trophycam so I can't really compare the two cams. I will say the Cudde takes really good crisp and clear pics. There are two things I don't like about it though. First, it has a 30sec. delay between triggers and there's no way to change that. And secondly, it's detection zone is very narrow. I also have the bear safe. It is made pretty well and fits the camera like a glove. You can pick up that bear-safe at Trailcampro.com for $29.95 that's where I got mine. Hope this helps. Blessings.....Pastorjim
I don't have the capture but I have 2 no flash cuddebacks. The bear boxes that come with them work great. I've taken over 30,000 pictures of bear with my cuddebacks while they were on bear baits and not once has anything happened to the bear box or camera. I'm assuming the same company makes both bear boxes so you should be good to go.
Thanks for the info. I think I will pick one up. Hopefully its rated for brown bears. haha I imagine there will be one or two coming by the bait.
