Hello from New Haven County. It's been a while, but as I remember there is a indoor facility in Wallingford just off the parkway @ exit 64, in the industral park. Pete
That would be awesome if it's still there. My girlfriend lives in Branford but in a condo so I have no where to shoot.
Sorry bout the delay, but after a little digging I found the address. Connecticut Archery 340 Quinnipiac Street, Building 24 ~ Wallingford, CT 06492 ~ (203) 626-9465 Out to 30 yds $10 an hour. Think I might try it myself, after season when the white stuff is on the ground. Just for the halibut. Pete
Sportsman Outpost in Wolcott CT has a shooting lane and a archery store. If they do not have it they can get it. The are adding a 2nd shooting lane indoors. Halls is pretty far. Another shop I highly recommended is Newbury Archery in Goshen. Still closer then Halls.
How's everyone doing?!?! Getting pumped?!?! 2 weeks away. I've got some nice one's on cam.. a couple studs.... hope they stay patterned up till the week of the 15th!
This season I am looking to continue perfecting my game. I am in the Redding/Ridgefield area and have been bow hunting for about 8 years. I'm looking for a few areas to hunt in upper Fairfield County. I would like to find some like minded hunters to practice and hunt with.
anyone have any luck? I've seen 3 does with no shots, a bobcat & some turkeys in my 2 sits so far. my buddy shot a spike and big doe.
Hey everyone, Im new to the site, just found out about this site from a buddy. I have been hunting anywhere from Danbury to Roxbury/Woodbury, and the thing Ive noticed the most is on how quiet the deer are coming in. Almost invisable and stealthy for sure. Anyone else noticing this? I have also noticed that the deer are not moving as much. Likely the warm weather is suspect. Anyone on here know of or have land to hunt in the new milford area? I just lost a big peice of my hunting properties due to family putting in a Quad track. My buddy is a commercial fisherman and is willing to trade fish and lobsters for permission to hunt.
Hey guys i am fairly new to the site as well. I had 100 plus acres i have been hunting for the last 6 years and this year because of people illegally dumping and riding quads and tearing up the property we lost our permission to hunt there. They pulled (5) 40 yard dumpsters full of garbage off the property from all of the illegal dumping. So needless to say i had to scramble this summer to find a new place to hunt and decided to hunt stateland. I went to check my cameras and and make sure my stand was all set for opening day and when i got up to my stand not only was my camera was stolen, but someone had hung a tree stand 60 yards away from my stand!! So i just pulled my stand and am gonna try another state property this weekend. If anyone has property and is looking for a hunting partner or knows of good stateland (where i wont be able to wave to another hunter when we are in our tree stands) i would love to hear about it!! I am kind of looking for a hunting partner this year as well. My wife is due in three weeks and she has been my hunting partner for the last several years. I would also be willing to help around the property or cut firewood or anything like that in order to gain access to a new hunting spot. Good luck and happy hunting!!
What part of the state are you from? There are some decent state land spots in the state, and others that get so much pressure they aren't even worth looking into.
I'm not too familiar with that area unfortunately. I believe there is some good looking bow hunting only land on the derby/Woodbridge line.
longbeard I know how u feel .I lost a 200 acre piece 1 week before season It got sold .I was trying to get ahold of the land owner all summer and on the sept 8 he called me back and told me . I have been hunting this for 15 yrs. luckaly I have a couple small pieces but no real game plan yet.
That sucks... i know that feeling all too well too.. I had a great "private" spot... about 500 acres... guy let about 10 guys hunt it so it was "private" only 4-5 of us bowhunted it religously and the rest gun hunted it. I had great luck there and considered it my honeyhole. I would go in farther than anyone else and always saw or killed deer. The property has been for sale for a couple of years and they switched real estate companies and now noone is allowed to hunt this. I found this out about a month before season. I was able to get into 2 other small pieces. One has had sightings, but no shots presented, and I killed my largest bow buck to date on the other 7 acre piece abutting the MA line the first week.
I don't know about everybody else but my trail cameras have been very quite only a few does running around anybody got some good bucks?
