Hey slugger, i seen tom(monster raxx) is sending you some plot mix to test. Hope it works for you, his products are great, I used his mineral and attractant spray and the deer here just love it. Tom is an awesome guy also, he is my go to guy for advice on placement for mineral and stuff, and he is always happy to help.

I'll join the trail cam pic posting, this mature 8 is a new guy to show up for me. The small 10 is a three year old. He needs another couple years but added about 4" to his spread and lengthened out those beams and tines. I'm thinking the 8 is definitely mature and is on my shoot straight list.

I put some of that sugar beet crush crap out 3-4 weeks ago but nothing really touched it. Rain washed it away. Think I'm just set up on a real good trail. We'll see what's going on next check. Have another camera up here now so I can try another area to look for something with a little better of a rack.

Try a salt block with some corn around it and put a bottle a vanilla extract around that.

Might not be worth it at this point, have to have bait cleaned up soon. Put some corn out the other day checking pics in a few days. We'll see. At least now I know I have a few bear to choose from!

Well our bow season is underway. I worked late so I couldn't make it out this afternoon for the opener. I have the next 3 days off though !! Wind will be wrong for our good spots in the morning. I will probably just go scout/hunt an area to see if we missed big bucks in that area. Should be a hell of a spot but early summer scouting didn't produce anything. Maybe by now there are more deer in there.

Britney won't be going with me in the morning so if I do see a good buck... I might get to do a little stalking. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

Say, since my season is underway... if any of you want to be texted if I should get one soon... PM me your number.

    Tim

What a night !! Thought I had everything packed in my back pack. Parked and got ready to walk in to our spot. No release !! Had the wife meet me half ways back to town. Drove back and walked in. Snuck into our spot and got Britney setup and then I setup 10 yards from her. We hunt from the ground 99% of the time with it being so open here. We just use what cover is available so we can stay mobile.

7:25 PM, the buck we are after stands up not 100 yards from us. We ninja-ed it. :nana:

He feeds for 5 minutes or so and beds back down.

8:12, he stands back up and slowly starts feeding our way. Took him a good 15 minutes to cut the distance down to 60 yards. Then the twit turns and heads to the South. We needed him to go North. Close but no cigar.

Britney is pretty pumped !! I've got to get her within bow range of him.

Tomorrow afternoon we will head back in there ( same wind ). This time we will sit in a great little pinch point that he walked though this evening. Hopefully he sticks to the same route as tonight and doesn't go North !!!!!
