My season is going super slow. Seeing zero does. I am seeing a lot of small bucks but they get to walk. I think I passed nine different ones so far. Some of them multiple times

Missed a doe yesterday. The wind was howling and threw my shot off pretty bad. Luckily it was a clean miss. The deer are chasing like crazy here though! Today I rattled up a nice 100" or so 8 point today but no shot.

Ok guys well I'm at the half way point rifle season starts this weekend and last 10 days so I cant do any bow hunting for 2 weeks. yesterday I seen my number 1 buck twister for the 1st time on the hoof but he stayed out at 50yds. All I can do is hope he makes it through rifle season. bow season ends January 15th so I will have about 6 weeks to get him or any other I like. I have 2 small food plots I'm hoping will get used a lot more when the rut is over and the temps stay down.

It's been a great season, just not for kills, so far.... I've got Friday-Wednesday to hunt it hard again and try to put down one of my shooters. I've seen almost 100 deer from the tree this year and have yet to squeeze the release. It's beginning to wear on me. I may burn a buck sit to go hunt a friends property in hopes of a doe on a warmer afternoon just to get my mojo back!

I've had an encounter with triple crown but he's only 3.5
    [IMG]

Also with the octagon, but he's 3.5
    [IMG]

And to add to the heart break I had the beast chasing a doe on my food plot last Sunday with 30 minutes of light left and they headed back to the timber...that hurt
    [IMG]

Add to that two other 3.5 year olds that I won't shoot...

    Halo
    [IMG]

    And Drew Bledsoe
    [IMG]

Things are getting frustrating and I'm feeling pressured.

If I'd have just killed that droptine ghost buck on Halloween I'd still be partying. It's gonna happen, I'm getting close.

Good job Richie. Couple more of us put down bucks and we will be in the running. Plus still 6 guys without does, so there is 300 points if every one can connect. Lets keep running this score up boys.

Shame it was with the rifle. It was my shortest season ever, opening day, shooting light was at 6:30 and I shot him at 6:38. It's ok though coz I rifle hunt a different property to where I bow hunt so no loss there :) now I get 10 days off before bow season opens. Good luck to all and I'm sure we will be getting more points on the board. Keep up the good work guys!!!

Congrats on your rifle buck, Eric !!

Congrats again on your buck, Richie !! Good luck filling your last tag.

So far only does within bow range. Did see a very nice buck chasing a doe yesterday but not near me. Well be out again this afternoon. Been hunting mornings and afternoons. If things pick up I might try some all day hunts this week when the road hunters are back to work.

well guys, I'm outta the game for a little while. have to hope the bow shop can fix me up fast. my buddy de-railed my bow last night, everything but the string and cable looks fine thank god. when it de-railed they pinched in between the cams and the limbs and locked it tight. got them back on but afraid to shoot it till it gets a clean bill of health.

Hey guys. I finally made it back home after spending 3 weeks in Kansas. All in all I had a very good hunt. The deer were moving good pretty much through my whole hunt. I was seeing some pretty good bucks but not the big monsters I was looking for. I passed 4 bucks in the 140's and 4 bucks in the 130's and quite a few smaller bucks waiting for something over 150. I did happen to see 2 bucks in the 150's but not close enough.

About 10 days into my hunt, while checking one of my trail cameras, I kicked up a buck I thought would score over 160. My trail camera had pictures of a typical 6x6 probably in the upper 160's. I hunted that buck pretty hard but only manage to see him one time chasing a doe but about 80 yards from me.

During my last week, while sitting on stand on a very crisp morning, I spotted a shooter walking up the trail I was overlooking. I gave him a soft doe bleat with my mouth, and managed to make a good 40 yard shot. He only went about 50 yards and I watched him fall from the stand. Here are a few pics.

Congrats to everyone who scored so far....Good luck to those who are still after em'.
