quiet tonight and the buck was a no show. Only saw a doe and her fawn.

Will be out in the morning with Britney. Going to be a cool morning ( 32 ) and a bit breezy.

Not good when your ready to walk into the woods and put your realease on ( last thing I put on) and the strap rips in half. Now I know why people have spares. I'll be going to get a new one in a few hours.

The one is use is a single strap that you put your hand through. Tightens as you pull on it. Have been using it for almost 9 years now and works like a charm

This past week in NJ was eventful but no big scores. My son took a small buck and a doe. I shot a doe and had to leave it over night and the coyotes ate half of her by the time I found her the next morning. My daughter shot a doe and a small buck. Had an encounter with a big 8 my last morning sit but no shot opportunities. Back out this Saturday for the last weekend of VT bow season. Supposed to be a high of 44 with lows in the 20's, rain and snow showers. Should get the deer up and moving.

Getting pumped now! Saw a 130 class 8 in the neighbors beans tonight from the road. He's taking the beans off this week so hopefully I can have a chance at him

Hey guys, I have a feeling November is going to be our month! Lots of close calls for us and the big boys are about to get their first nose full of estrous in a year. Ima predict four bucks over 120" for us in the coming weeks!

I'm working 10 straight and then starting October 31 I've got 8 in a row off. I've been staying outta the woods for the last couple weeks, but it's about to get serious!

Good luck to everyone hitting the woods soon!

well change in plans for the weekend. Had planned to stay out of the woods until the 31st when my vacation starts, but I got a text yesterday from the land owner that corn is being cut. So I will now be in stand all day saturday probably. Have a good idea of one of my shooters was bedding in that corn. Hoping it has pushed him out and will get him on his feet during the day with the cold temps, the corn on the ground, and rut getting close.

Good news! This buck from last year is still alive and in the area. The neighbor has pics of him but he lost his splits. I haven't seen the pictures but apparently he got smaller in spread but put more mass on.[IMG]

Headed out tomorrow AM and afternoon as well as Sunday. Last weekend of Vermont bow season. I'm actually going to hunt with my bow during rifle season in Nov this year so I can have the rut with my bow, nov 16-dec1. Then I'll have dec 7-15 late season bow then that's it in vt. We will be back in Jersey dec 25-31, then that will be it for our season. Good luck to everyone tomorrow morning. The weather is going to be prime here.

Heading out tomorrow for an all day sit as well. Corn came down this week and with these cold temps I hope to see some buck movement. Ill be happy to just see my shooters show back up on cam. Starting Thursday-31st, I will be in stand all day for 9 days straight trying to get it done. Good luck fellars.

Little discouraged here in Vermont. The entire month of October the deer have disappeared off the trail cams. Not due to pressure as I haven't hunted the stands very much. They just seemed to completely change patterns and I don't know where they have been. I've seen two dead bucks on the interstate and a huge 8 point standing next to the road today so it looks like they are rutting and moving around. Guess time will tell.

After 2 days of driving I'm finally in Kansas. I only had time to talk to the landowner and do a little glassing tonight. Not much for deer sightings tonight but they are just finishing harvesting the milo. I'll probably just do some glassing the next couple of days to try to pattern the deer and hang a few stands and then i'll start hunting. I'm here for at least 2 weeks and maybe a little more.

Out all day tomorrow in a stand I haven't touched in 2 weeks. What really stinks is I was just out in my driveway and heard them running around across the street in the woods.
