I'll be out for the last couple hours of light this afternoon. Good spot for doe, had one come in yesterday but had a real small spotty with her. Just couldn't do that to the fawn. It looked like a real late born fawn, so small I'm wondering if it will actually make the winter.

It rained a little so I got out of work for an afternoon hunt with Britney. She had a young 4x4 at 6 yards. Fun hunt for her but she is hoping for something a little bigger. I have no idea where she gets the idea of being picky and waiting for big bucks. Just no clue !! :p

Otherwise it was a pretty quiet and relaxing hunt except for the billion skeeters. God, I hate those things !!!!!

Took a second doe Tuesday morning, not that it counts for the contest. It was another stalk, on a bedded doe. Great fun being on the ground with the deer, trying to match wits with them. NJ is a great place to do it to cause there are so many deer. Also had a great encounter with a 120" buck. 30 yd standoff for 25 min. He was behind to many trees. Eventually a doe busted me while I was trying to range him. He turned and walked straight away from me and never gave me a shot. Good luck everyone, back in VT now, waiting for our Oct 5 start date.

I'll be in the tree tonight. Hoping to add another fifty points to our score. But who knows a shooter buck might come in!

I'm trying man. It seems the deer have not been coming through my stand area since opening day. If I don't see any tonight I'm moving my stand

I'm back in Vermont, will be looking for a buck on Oct 5. Though I probably won't shoot one unless its big cause ill be back in NJ in mid Oct and have a much better chance of shooting a nice buck.

Well if we keep on it we will put up some more points. My first hunt will be a morning hunt on Oct 1st then a morning and evening sit on the 5th. 3 good hunts so I should produce something by the 5th.

It's a long season, don't worry about the points, just go out, enjoy the hunt, and have fun. The points will come. Shoot what makes you happy, don't try to just hold out for a bigger buck for the points.

well I went out 2day and had 2 does out at 20yds but I wasn't ready and there was no way I could get my bow without been busted. Then I had a spike at 15yds but we are not allowed to kill them here but that's ok. Probably wont be out again till next weekend. Good luck and be safe
