Good luck bud, I have 16 more days of waiting left. Going dove hunting again today, then helping a buddy hang some stands, then tomorrow checking my cams, hope it is a better card pull then 2 weeks ago.

Good luck this morning! I like your game plan. It's fun catching doe fever early

Congratulations on a great doe and way to break the ice for us! So how did the encounter unfold? I'm a details guy and am going to live vicariously for a bit until I can get up a tree.

For those who like details. Unorthodox but it worked. My morning was slow, one small buck which I didn't want to shoot nor could I cause we have to shoot a doe first in NJ. My son shot three does and we were recovering them, two dropped at 30yds but one ran over 200yds to an adjacent road, when we passed a doe feeding. I parked and got out and went stalking on my hands and knees through the under brush from the downwind side until I came out at the field edge. I managed to get to 25yds and took her broadside. She went 20yds into the under brush and expired. We do alot of spot and stalk here. Cutting deer today, back in the stand tomorrow.

Great story vermontwhitetail! Spot and stalk is something I'd love to try someday. Congratulations again on a great harvest!

Checked cams today and set my climber up, and move a camera to the trail going by where I set the climber. Also a lot of acorns on the ground on the trail, will sneak back and check it after my morning sit opening day. Here is a link to my facebook album if yall want to see the pictures. Got my 2 hit list bucks showing up right at shooting light, and some good pics of "Splitter" shedding velvet.

Great bucks! Splitter is an awesome deer. That sequence of him getting the velvet off is very cool.
