I have always been fasinated with airplanes and even got heavily involved with nitro powered RC planes at one time, i loved to build, and fly them. SO, yesterday this guy shows up in my back yard and had the whole family, the UPS guy, and some neighbors gathering in my yard to watch the show . And what a show it was, these guys are NUTS, They flirt with disaster against trees and powerlines At one point it looked as if he was going to go straight through the back of my house thought you might enjoy the pics.
He got really close to your place. I have a friend that does that for a living. He has only crashed once which he thinks is good. It is amazing how they do that with trees around.
Gram, he only crashed once?? daaaaaammmm!! thats to many! Dan, some had to get in the pool, you could smell the stuff, it was pretty strong
Man...he did get close. Your backyard kinda reminds me of that movie "Signs." Hope you don't see any green people.
They still do that here in De and the plane is yellow also but a bit smaller. You will be going down the interstate when that guy will buzz you coming off of or going into a crop field. Wonder why someone hasn't wrecked watching him. He flies over my house too and I will try to get pics also next time I see him.
Alot of the times our fields are to wet to spray ourselves so we have to sometimes hire spray planes......And man those guys are NUTS, diving under power lines, pulling up at just the right time before he smacks something, ive just parked my pickup right along the road and i can watch these guys for hours at a time. i've ggot alot of respect for these guys, even more if they didnt charge so much:D
'crick, are you REAL close to I65??? we saw a crop duster while we were passing thru there yesterday on our way back from AL... looked a LOT like that one... kids thought it was really cool
Wow.... Awesome photos! You're right... Those guys are nuts! I have a older cousin out in Indiana that flies, but not crop dusters or small Piper or Cessna planes. He flies Lear jets and other passenger planes, but not the big commercial Air Buses and 737's, 747's, etc...
ButchA accuses me of "crop dusting" in supermarkets, but it's not true. Well...not entirely true. Ok, maybe a little... I once watched a guy crop dusting a field out west, and a fairly small field(for them). He accomplished this by racing down the field, then pulling a nearly vertical climb, at the end at which he would appear to stall, roll with a half twist, and then fall back toward the ground. At the last possible second he would simultaneously pull back to level and change rows, and he did this over and over until the field was done, then disappeared. Some of the finest aerobatic flying I've ever seen outside of an air show.
