Euchre is like 500 right? We used to play 3-13 with our old neighbors. Have not played cards in 3 years I bet. Spoons is another Wisconsin deer camp game.
they ended up in 'Sconnie t some point, didn't they? Or wasn't Candy's character in a polka band from 'Sconnie?
That's racist not all big time Polka bands are from Wisconsin. The Big Time Joe Polka Show was based in Nebraska. Lawrence Welk was from the Dakotas.
I had never heard of euchre until I was in the military. Bunch of dudes from WI, ND, MI, and other so called Yankees, got me playing. Those damn Dakota boys were ringers. Enjoyed it, but before that it was all spades and hearts. Never played cribbage tho. Is there a correlation between polka and spooning and cribbage? I'm struggling to keep up here, but im only a poor Appalachian kid who has never been fishing in an ice shack. Sent from my SM-G960U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Eric come up to Pine lake I have a portable dark house you can bow fish for pike instead of spearing. Spoons is a card game not like Noodles perverse wet dream. Polka is easy to dance to just count to 3. I used to drive my kids nuts on Saturday nights when the Big Joe Polka Show was on RFD TV and I would crank up the volume.
Old guys in a hardware store when I was growing up played crib all day long. They claimed they pegged so fast they melted the plastic pegs and had to switch to using nails. I learned watching them but never played till in college. Grew up in central ND.
I used to fly into Jamestown once a month thought I was going to die like Buddy in a snow storm a few times.
I’ve flown through Jamestown many times. That airport has given me a few interesting stories about my travels. Had to take a cab from there to Devils Lake one night about midnight. Plane couldn’t land in DL due to ice so 8 passengers piled into a “local cab” for the last 99 miles of our trip. The cab was actually the drivers work truck. He was a painter/cabbie with at least 10 pine air fresheners hanging from the rear view mirror. I rode shotgun and my job was to keep his windshield scraped from frost. The snow was sticky and so much was stuck to his radio antenna it broke off from flopping in the wind. Trip took three hours.
That sounds like a hell of a good time to me. Never even seen a pike in person but always wanted to chase em at some point. Sent from my SM-G960U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
