So the last few days i have kinda been looking at videos on YouTube about people taking there Tom decoys that are in full strut!! And they sneak out in the field and get within 20 yards with a bow and shoot them!!!

So i was just wondering what you guys thought about it... but i might make a little deal to go in my bee stinger, and just take out two feathers out of the tail fan so my arrow doesn't get messed with, and if i couldn't call them in why not seek on them!!!

I don't know if ill do it yet, but just wondering what you guys thought!! thanks!

ive seen this, and actually had a buddy of mine kill one this year using this method (shotgun though)...hes killed a few with a bow and said that this was "the best turkey hunt i've ever had"...killed the bird at 12steps. personally, i duno how i feel about it, but i think that's mainly bc i dont see my 6'1'' 275lb bodybuilding frame hiding behind a strut decoy and belly crawling into a field lol. heck, i reckon its worth a try though...

Looks like a good way to get shot. The fancy video they have over 50% of the turkeys are missed or wounded I dont see any turkey reaping in my future.

Yeah i enjoy my in-blind method....worked just fine for me this year haha. From what ive read this method is meant for private property areas where people have more control over other hunter's location.

Here in KY just last week there was one man shot and killed and another injured who will lose an eye. Another hunter had his strutting decoy shot. Both instances the shooter ran off. Another friend of mine had to hold a couple guys for authorities who were hunting with a 17 caliber rifle. All took place on private ground all incidents were with trespassers. There is no "safe" place anymore.

It is illegal to stalk birds here in Jersey but I had a friend who was focusing on another bird and had another attack him and cut him up pretty good. He did manage to kill that bird though !

I've seen it done for several years (on video) but I don't think I would be comfortable doing it. There are already to many hunters that shoot at movement so I see no reason to conceal myself as something they are hunting. However, I would support anyone who wanted to try it. We should never condemn someone for how they hunt as long as it is legal.
