I'm normally not this way concerning gear. And for some reason I'm becoming more of a perfectionist in my old age. But for some reason I almost have myself talked into a broadhead debate. My main issue is that unless I keep checking and am careful, sometimes my Thunderheads get bumped out of perfect spin, and fly just a hair less tightly grouped than they should. The difference really isn't much at all, and most likely in my head. Now when I shoot Stingers, they seem dead nuts every shot. No worries about spin, all are perfect on every arrow. The reality is I know it doesn't matter & I've had nothing but the utmost confidence in thunderheads for over a dozen years. So why am I getting all bent out now?

How does this happen? Do the Thunderheads still use a rubber O-ring? This was the cause of a bad spin for me. Usually from over tightening the head. I switched to Wasp SST Hammers and every one spins true. They use an aluminum washer that keeps the alignment straight. These are the best flying fixed broadheads that I've ever used.
I think a lot of us get worried about that shot that is at the limit of our confident shooting ability. For me that would be around 30 yards or so in the field, possible even 28 yards. We want everything perfect with our gear just in case that 28-32 yard shot comes by with the quickness. That scenario creates havoc with our minds.
Yea the TH's still use the O Ring. I love the Wasp SST hammers as well. i never have a flight issue with them. I also notice than when the wasp hits the deer i never had to go too far to recover them...
