I could see that bass going 5# with a 1.5# weight hanging on the scale with it :deer:

Dude, that's a damn nice bass! Looks like you was a young punk when you caught that one.....I'm saying 7, maybe a tick over.

Buckeye, I don't think that fish weighs over 5lbs, however....kudos on the nice Roland Martin arm stretch technique. :D

I was just a kid :d I never did weight that fish.. It was a post spawn female. It had a huge head on it. Biggest "frame" of a largemouth I ever caught, but have caught some that would have weighed more. Would have been a fine specimen while carrying eggs for my area.. A real Toad.

However, I would argue that it was over 5 pounds, approaching 6 if I had to guess. Between practice and all of the tournaments I have fished I have caught a lot of bass in the 5 pound + range and I really believe it was a decent amount bigger than a run of the mill 5 pounder.

I can tell you however, it was a tick shy of 23 inches. Reference my knuckles are 3.75 inches across.

For you nay sayers, take into consideration that the young man holding that bass is 6' tall and 250 lbs. It came in at 5# even if you don't want to believe it, that's fine. I stood there as my son weighed it, so you be the one to come tell him to his face.

Just got done fishing. The panfish were hungry! Caught 2 rock bass, 10 sunnys and 3 crappies. One of them a 15 1/2 slab. Fishing is definately #3 on my favorite things to do!
