... no, not that kind hippie :fro:

I've noticed a problem while I'm in the stand. My ankles crack and pop sometimes when I shift or stand. They always have in the mornings when I first get out of bed and walk around, but now I'm noticing it in the field as well.

Last year, I had a doe under my stand. Ankle popped and she spooked out of there.:busted: So, now I'm self conscious about the whole thing.

Does anyone else have this happen? Do you know of any remedies for cracking joints?

Glucosamine and Chondroitin are popular joint lubricants and come in pill form. Bad thing is they make your cholesterol sky rocket.:violin:

happens to me (knees and ankles) every step that i take every day of every yr. mine get tight too during the sit. what i try and do is force them too when the coast is clear OR i'll make em crack while sitting down (make less noise when not bearing as much weight)

I was taking this and it does not help popping joints. My ankles and knees pop all the time. (On a side note my cholesterol was normal while on it as well.)

I am only 25 and i have had this problem for years haha. Im such an old man. Anyway i do this exact same thing to avoid popping when the deer are near me. I have also realized that when i stand if i dont completely straighten my leg to where it locks in the knee it wont pop if my movements are slow. But, i frequently stand up and stretch and pop the joints when im sitting for awhile.

I see I'm not the only one Fitz that has this problem. Every 25 minutes or so while I'm In stand I'll extend my ankle and crack It. It's good to go for a while after that then.

I do that all the time in the stand. I am constantly cracking my ankles, wrists, neck and fingers the entire time that I am in the stand.

I sound like a caribou when I walk around. My ankles, knees, hips, and elbows snap and pop. My shoulders sound and feel like they're filled with gravel.

My stealthy ninja days are loonngg past.

I stand in the stand the whole time. This means I usually just have to shift around slightly to get into shooting position. Less movement = less noise. If I can feel pressure building in my knee or ankle, I'll 'pop' it before the deer get there. Haven't spooked deer with the popping and cracking but when my bow was cranked up higher, I let out an involuntary gasp of pain while I was drawing (shoulder) that got a deer's attention. :)

I pop all the time in the stand, and I'm only 19. If it's not my ankles or knees, I'm popping my knuckles for some reason.

My ankles and knees pop all the time. I've had both knees scoped and have to fully extend my left leg prior to standing when kneeling due to the joint locking up from missing cartilage that got trimmed during the last surgery. Part of getting old I guess.

Maybe when you start cracking just wiggle your knees back and forth and start a rattling sequence. :D
