Hi, I was out shooting my 60LB longbow at a target in my back yard today and found one of my camo gamegetter arrows has a crack in it. There is a noticeable hole in it about 9/16" wide in a slit about diagonal along the plain of the shaft. Is this arrow safe to keep shooting? I realize it shouldn't ever have a broad head on it, so I am asking for target shooting only. Thanks.
I'm not sure about with a longbow bow compound no. I would air in the safe side and say no Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Whats a Gamegetter worth?? Couple bucks?? Lets see emergency room.. with ins prob about 500 meds we'll say 50, missed work perhaps??? 1,000$$ .............. broken arrows are broken arrows. TRASH
No, but if it breaks on release, could end up going through your arm. Throw the arrow in the garbage!
How can an arrow have a hole in it 9/16" wide? Post a pic if you can, and whatever you do, do not shoot it!
That arrow is junk. Do a google search, plenty of folks have had aluminum arrows break. I was shooting with a guy at a traditional 3-d once and his arrow broke. I can see the fletched end of the autumn orange shaft sticking out of hand between his thumb and index finger. He missed archery season that year due to the injury.
I know you mentioned aluminum but take a look at this pic and see if its worth it!!! NOT for the queezy!!!
No way!! Just because it's aluminum and likely won't shatter like a carbon doesn't mean it can't break in flight and somehow mess you or your bow up. Arrows are too cheap compared to a hospital visit or a new bow.
Never use any equipment that looks like its headed for failure! I couldn't imagine getting impaled by my own arrow.
Thanks for the advice, I'm gonna keep the arrow as a wall hanger. Even if I shouldn't use it any more I just can't bring myself to toss it. Plus when the Zombie Apocalypse comes I'll have an extra arrow when the other arrows have been spent. haha
