we are starting to a lot of coyote activity in my area, more so than i have noticed in the last 5 years. With pictures of 2 new fawns in my area i was wondering what the best way to "eradicate" these creatures are, note me and the friend hunting with me are not opposed to removal by "force."

If hunting does become necessary how would i go about it as i have never hunted coyote before.

shoot them. If you don't have the time or means invite others who do.

what can i use as bait. i know they have a better sense of smell than deer so covering my sent is key.
I guess what i am really looking for is techniques. i have the time and i have no porblem shooting a coyote to help promote my fall hunting situation

use freezer burnt food out of your freezer or we have used shad before but there is also an exemption for shad in Oregon.

Not sure what your state laws are on using wild fish/game animals as bait are.

why not go to the store and buy a few rabbits and tie them up and dump blood on them. run nails through their feet so they really let out some screamin'

I am not sure how to go about hunting them with exception of using decoys and calls. I have heard of guys around here using raw meet and a good bit of it at a time to lure them in while calling. I have read in more than one article that once you start you don't want to stop. Shooting one or two here and there will not get rid of them. I read an article not long ago that they will adapt by producing more pups. Shoot as many as you can and invite everyone you can to shoot them with you. I have not heard any in our area lately but, I know they are here and want to buy a good rifle just for them next year and start knocking them out. I live in NC and its open season all year for those things with no restrictions at all. I will probably start next spring and if I see one this season as my brother did last season it will be lights out for it. Good luck with it and search old threads on this site. I believe there have been some post in the past on this subject.

I have an electric predator call that works great. I just setup a blind on the edge of a field and start calling. Usually works pretty good.

It's really hard to put a dent in coyote populations by hunting them. Trapping seems to be much more effective. As far as tactics, get a caller, play the wind and shoot straight. :)
