I have had coyotes on my trail cams before, but when I checked them this weekend I was sure that I had a wolf. I sent them to a friend who sent them to his taxidermist and he said that they were of a coyote. What do you guys think?

First one is the only one that's questionable whatsoever... though I've trapped yotes with that exact colorotion. Hard to determine size on him other than he's blocky without something for scale... again, I've trapped yotes that looked just like that.

    The others are unquestionably yotes.

I agree with number 1 possibly being a wolf, that was my initial impression. It has a different stature and size. The others are coyotes

All yotes. First one looks wolfy but when compared size-wise to the second yote photo, it's too small to be a wolf.

Maybe? If it is a coyote, then he is a he and he is a big one. Need something to better use scale

Both the first and second picture are the same location. The second picture is clearly a coyote. So, comparing the size of the coyote to the size of the animal in the first photo (taken at same location) it's pretty safe to say that the animal in question would be a pretty darn puny wolf. A coyote-sized wolf. ;)
Therefore, it's most likely a yote.

On my phone so hard to toggle back and forth, but starting to think pics 1 and 2 could be the same coyote. Pic 2 wasn't loading for me initially other than the thumbnail version so was comparing 1 and 3. Pic 2 is a decent sized yote as well, a bit closer to the cam than 1

I agree now, all Coyote....was thinking the first two pics were at a different spot, just day/night....just looked at the other thread.

I think I would hang a stand about 20 yards east of this spot?

Nice post! That really puts it in perspective. Thanks for your help and eveyone elses! I am glad that we dont have any wolves....yet. Our deer population has taken a hit this year and I think it has to do with the coyotes and the bobcat. We also have a big black bear too.

Wolves, yotes, bobcats ,bears, might as well throw in a cougar LOL. I dont think I want t walk in your woods at night :)
I have never seen a yote much less a wolf. I have seen lots of bears the last ten or so years.
