Shed you got to be kidding me! I'm surprised. I took you for a diehard Cowboy fan!:eek:
Who cares about Favre (even if you do like him). The Cowboys have a legit shot to go to the Super Bowl.

Not when you lose 3 of your last 5 heading into post season. With one of those wins against a Giant team that didn't want to get off the plane. I still think there is trouble in Viking land. Yeah they pounded the Giants who gave up almost 100 points in the last 2 games they played after they were out of the playoff hunt. Can take NOTHING from that game. Remember a few weeks ago before the Giants game how much disarray that team was in. Trouble with the coach vs. QB. AP non factor (7 straight games without 100 yards). Offensive line in shambles etc.........

Bottom line is. This (like most games) is going to really be a battle in the trenches. If the Vikes O line cant' slow down the Dallas D, it's a long long long day for Favre. On the other side of the ball, if the Vikes D line cant' stop the Cowboys running attack, it's a world of hurt for them. Opens up the whole playbook. The Cowboys are running the ball EXTREMELY well!! In my (slightly) unbiased opinion, the Cowboys are just whooping people in the trenches on both sides. I don't see how that changes in one week. There will be some big plays made and all that, but at the end of the day it comes down to who wins it physically. Who stops the run, gets pressure on the QB and who runs effectively. I give all phases to the Cowboys. I just don't see it the other way. And for some strange reason I'm not worried about Romo. The dude is playing at a level I didn't think he could play at.

Quarterbacks: Vikings (close, but Romo is not better then Favre)
    Runningbacks: Vikings (not close)
    Receivers: Vikings
    Oline: Cowboys
    Dline: Vikings (not close)

    Brett Favre Haters:

Now as for the game. Whats this about Dallad being so hot? I dont see it?

Minnasota finshed 2/5, and Dallas 3/5. Big deal.

One playoff win and the Cowboys have reversed the curse and are on there way to the Super Bowl.....LOL.

Dallas secondary cant hold up to Favre, Rice, Harvin, Shiancoe, Peterson and Taylor. No way.

Perfect! It is easy to look back at what a team did in the beginning of the season, but that means nothing now.... want proof, look at the Bengals, Bronco's, Giants, ect. In the last month or two, Dallas has played better than the Vikings.

    Seriously?

Its as simple as watching the last 5 games and seeing who has played better.

Yeah....and I guess Lou Gherig is a better 1st baseman than Big Poppy. I'm betting Big Poppy has more RBI's than Lou in 2010, though.

Brett's not hard to dislike. He's the ultimate prima donna. And, it's a lot like living in NC and having to deal with "some" UNC fans. Objectivity seems to go out the window in discussions concerning their team (and with die-hard Brett fans). If I didn't worry about Brett tattling to God, I'd say more.

    Favre >>>>> Romo

Peterson, Taylor > Barber, Jones, Choice

Rice, Harvin, Berrian, Shiancoe >> Austin, Witten, Williams, Crayton

    My take

I'm torn now that my Packers are out. Favre is my favorite player of all time. BUT, I just can't bring myself to cheer for him in a Viking uniform. I also hate the Cowboys. Whoever wins the game... I'll be rooting against them thru the rest of the playoffs for sure no matter who they face.

I was worried about the 'Boys, but given Siman/O8's football picks of late (Colt for Heisman, Texas in the National Championship, Favre/Rodgers for MVP, etc.) I feel quite confident now ;)

Seriously, though, I think it's definitely the best match up this week. It'll be interesting to see if Dallas' revamped D can stop Favre, Peterson, Harvin, Rice, etc. Hopefully Romo will play up to this year's standards rather than those of past years.

If Romo is solid and Dallas' D plays anywhere close to how they've been playing....Dallas by 10

I haven't read this thread, but I'm sure it has had some wonderfully insightful posts.

The thing is though, none of it really matters, because both of these teams will lose in New Orleans next weekend.

So this game really means nothing.

This is the equivalent of Bowling Green vs Northern Idaho in a bowl game.

The Saints better just worry about the Cardinals this week. If they squeak by the Cardinals, they won't beat the Cowboys (or Vikes by some miracle). They arent' exactly striking fear into anyone anymore.

Even as a Cowboys fan I'll agree with that. He's had a good year thus far and FinAlLy had a good December BUT he hasn't won a big game yet and he's still yet to convince most people (self included) that he can do just that.

    Hopefully this weekend he will.
