Do the covert line of cameras come with a small padlock similar to bushnells that is used to secure the camera from being opened while secured to a tree? I can't find much on this. Thanks.

attention to detail would be nice. I posted that other thread now this is a seperate question. The other thread asked if the cameras had piping for a cable to snake through to secure the camera to a tree. Now this thread is asking if the cameras come with a padlock to keep the camera from being opened after being put on a tree.

haha...wow chalk that up to being a friday haha! Sorry bout that. I'm not a 100% sure as I only have the small Cover CA's and one Red40 (just got last night and haven't looked it over) but the CA's do have a little eyelit but it's plastic and doubt it would stop much even with a padlock.

Pat's never gone long and he'll know for sure either way.

Ha, I was surprised you didn't notice I was the one that posted the other thread either. But I used the small padlock so someone couldnt just walk up and remove the sd card or batteries. I heard it happened to someone I know. Both my bushnells currently came with a small padlock for this reason now i'm trying to buy some coverts and wondering if I will need to get some. Very useful if you don't want your sd card and batteries taken from someone out just walking around.

The cameras do not come with the padlock but do have a place for one.

    Thanks Pat

I use a zip ties on my cams cover so I can tell if has been messed with and python locked to the tree. I am bad with keeping up with keys.

Locks are for honest people and chainsaws can get anything

I was always worried the small luggage locks could be twisted off. but the zip ties work well for me.

I have 4 of the Coverts in the woods, I use the Python lock to attach it to the tree and a small luggage type combo lock to keep the batteries and SD card safe. I keep the combinations on the locks all the same, passwords as well!

I use a zip tie as well. I just want to know if someone tampered with it... Nothing more... Neither the hole for the lock for the cable give me much comfort. It's a flimsy piece of plastic. Not knocking Covert as this is typicall of pretty much all cam manufacturers. If you want some secuirty buy bear boxes and mount them up high.
