Ive been looking for a while for a new trail cam. ive got some cheapo moultrie i got for christmas 2 years ago, the pictures are alright but the battery life sucks. For those of yall who have a covert cam how long do the batteries usually last? and have yall had any problems with them? Thanks a lot guys!
Not sure yet.... But seriously ibe had at least my MPE5 out since march-ish and its still on an 8 of battery life. I really cant think off of the top of my head because they last so long.
I have had a red 40 out for 3 months probably over 6000 pictures and I think it was at 9 last I checked.
I would think you could easily get close to a year with a set of lithiums. Blessings.........Pastorjim
thanks guys that definitely answered my question about the batteries! one more question... haha where do i buy one? the stores round here dont have em!
I have gotten over 6 months out of my MP6 with over 25,000 pics taken. I purchased a Red40 at the GTG and it is still going strong.
I bought mine at Wing Supply Hunting Supplies Online | Discount Hunting Equipment Supply Store | Hunting Gear for Sale Online Use the coupon code "welcomeback12"
My old CA models last season I only changed batteries twice THE ENTIRE YEAR. Now the new MPE5, MP6s and MP6blacks (oh also the Red40) all seem to get great life out of batteries. We hung cams around February and have yet to replace batteries (that's on 2 or 3 shot burst with a 30sec-1min time lapse depending on spot).
My one Red40 has been running since February of this year and still shows 9 battery level. I would guess around 8000 pics so far.
I have a Moultrie D55IRXT, which takes c batts. I put in a new set of good batteries(duracell, energizer) in the spring and then another set just before the season, Sept or Oct. I use the video setting all the time though, so I probably don't get the same longevity as if I had the camera set just for pics.
We had our mp6 out from September till January last year, and the batteries stayed up that long, liked it so much we just bought three more!
Have had an mp6 in action since 9/12 been in the woods ever since. Still going strong last time I checked in June the bar was still full
