I have a 2014 Red 40, and over half of all my pics turn out like this. I have tried to do the firmware update, but it didn't help. Any ideas on what to do?

It's a stuck filter. Give it a good rap.

May want to try another SD card. But to me it looks like a stuck filter also.

I've had stuck filters on my cameras in the past. A good rap always took care of it.

Well, it sounds like I have to smack a brand new camera to get it to work right....

I hear you. Smacking something that you just spent $100+ for isn't something you can do easily. The sad part is you shouldn't have to. For as long as these companies have been making their cams, don't you think they would have somewhat perfected at least one model of their line? One you can honestly count on? I think they just need to focus more on reliability. This trail cam thing can get pricey.

Don't be afraid to give the camera a good rap. Maybe several. All it usually takes is one good rap to unstick the filter. You shouldn't ever have to do it again.
