Covert pics from this week.. Bully is #1 on the hitlist and a first ever photo

Well, I haven't put up any game cam pics in awhile so I figured that I should put a few up.

First, this is a picture that shocked me as I would have NEVER imagined it... a groundhog feeding with a small buck..... at 3 A.M. I have never heard of groundhogs being out at night, but this guy was.



And now for some deer pictures..

Bully really blew up late and filled out nicely. He wasn't high on my list earlier in the season, but he may just be my number 1 target buck after this season. I am hoping that he keeps a similar pattern as last season as I saw him dozens of times and passed up "slam dunk" shots numerous times. His body dwarfs all other deer and the amount of muscle that he has on him now is crazy.








I finally got some better pictures of Ron Burgundy and even though he is a great deer, he dropped off the hit list. When the velvet started tightening up he really dropped off and doesn't look nearly as impressive as several weeks ago. He just looks like a young deer that has too much potential. I really hope he makes it through till next season.







And then there is wide 6.... he was a good looking wide 6 point last year, but he is almost the exact same size this year as a 3 year old except he is now an 8 point. I'm on the fence about him, he is by no means a big deer, but he probably won't get any better. He has the genetics that were very pronounced in this area several years ago but seem to have faded... wide, good brows, short tines. I really hope to get Tiffany onto this buck as he would be a perfect 1st bow deer.

 

The buck you call Bully made me say "oh my goodness"!! Man i hope you get him this fall!!

Excellent bucks! Bully is a HOSS. I wouldn't be able to pass on Burgundy, but if you're right and he makes it till next year, he will be HUGE.

 

Thanks guys. I have a pretty good idea on Bully so far. He was pretty easy to pattern last year and so far, he seems to be keeping to the same pattern. I'm sure things will change a bit, but I am gonna have to try and figure that out as I go.

I have no clue as to his weight, but he is a big deer, especially for being a 3 year old. He was a small heavy horned 6 point at 1.5 and a solid 8 point last year.. I won't pass him this year, but it would e interesting to see what he could be next year.

On a side note, I am surprised that nobody mentioned the groundhog...that was the coolest part of the camera check haha
