I know the covert cams are noted for not having great night time photos, but are these pictures normal? You can hardly tell what it is sometimes.
Seems about on par with mine. I had to set mine lower and point it more straight out out or slightly up to get it to improve and even then it was marginal. That's why I was so down on them. Battery life is better than any of my others is the only up side.
My biggest pet peeve with my Coverts is the night time quality. For the price I got them for, I'm able to live with it.
I've never had a problem with Covert's infrared. Maybe email them these pics and see what they have to say. I have a feeling that they will ask you to send the camera back and they will send you a new one.
Your battery being low is gonna affect the nighttime flash. Have all pics looked like this even with fresh batteries?
In my opinion it was the batteries as well. When mine get low I can expect a few crappy pics. Is it that way with brand new batteries though?? Perhaps there are a few LED's not working too?
Low battery and below freezing temps = bad combo. You need to start swapping out batteries below 35% once it gets cold. I just re-purpose mine. The kids get used batteries for xbox controllers and what not.
