It looks like you guys have almost convinced me to purchase a couple of the RED 40's. I usually don’t put any cameras out until about august but may put a couple out early this year. What kind of batteries do you use and battery life have you guys been getting out of your Covert cameras. In past I've used the "premium" but not the "photo" batteries in my other cameras and I'm lucky if I get three weeks out of the batteries..... just curious because if I put them out this time of year, I'm only planning on checking them about once a month or so.

I used to run lithiums in the Coverts but realized it wasn't worth it...getting immense battery life out of generics even with them! One camera up since January just checked last week had over 90% battery life on just generic no name batteries. :) Good enough for me.

trailcampro.com has a battery drain test that lists many cameras.

I have 12 AA Duracells in my cameras. The first two cams have been out over 2 months and they still read fully charged, both cams taking about 3000 pics each during that time. The last 3 cams we just put out so will let you know how those are holding up as well.

My 2012 red 40 has been out since February and still shows full battery with the cheaper Rayovac brand batteries. I would guess over 5000 pics since being out.

Just put Energizer's back in our Red 40's from last year. Have had the same batteries from last summer. Getting a couple hundred pics per week. Still well over 90%.

Got duracells in my cams and have had close to 700 on the one and still full battery. They're both mp6 cams set at highest mp and two shot burst, think might of bumped it up.

My last set was 5 1/2 months and over 20,000 pics. I swapped them going into the winter, but they still read 50%.

Prostaff or not, these Coverts have incredible battery life. My black60 I bought last year and put it out December 1st STILL has the same 12 rayovacs in them reading 9 (full battery). I ran it in winter too. My other cameras (2 Moultrie m80s) went through 3 sets of 8 batteries already and took less pictures.

Sd cards= I run a SanDisk, Duracell,PQ something or other and Max Flash from Wingsupply.com and have no issues. Majority will recommend SanDisk.

My 2 Coverts still have the original batteries in them. Got them around Christmas.

I put 8 AA batteries in my Covert MP6 in April of last year and I didn't change them until November 2012. Battery meter still had one bar. Over 20,000 pics on that set of batteries!

I've gotten 45K pics out of a Black 60 which uses slightly more juice at night with 20 more leds to fire than the Red. :tu:
