First cam check of the summer on our lease last weekend. Had two cams out since March and just got back to pull the cards and put a few others out. Fortunately, a few shooters have shown up this summer The first is a buck we call Strahan. He was a 2 year old 8 last year with a big gap between his G2 and G3 on his right side. We had one encounter with him and probably 75 trail cam pics. He basically has no brows. Last year he busted one off, and the other was lucky to be an inch long. Here he is last year. Here he is this year. Not the best pic, but it's definitely him. Nothing for brows, gap on his right side. Looks like he popped a G4 on his left side too. The next one is a great looking 10 point. A bit weak on the tine length, but plenty wide and great brows. Not sure if I know him from last year or not. Still working on that. The last one is another 10 point, possibly breaking into an 11. Hard to tell exactly how big he is, but he's nice. The camera is mounted up in a tree about 6 feet off the ground, facing down at the fence crossing so it makes their tines look shorter than they are. Not sure if I know this guy either. It's possible I have photos of him from last fall, but hard to be sure until I get more pics. I'd say he should go in the 150's anyways. Going to pull cameras this weekend from my other farm. Hopefully the good luck has spread there too.
Looking good Justin. To me it looks like even the buck with the "shorter" tine length still has some growing to do with those bulbs at the end of those tines. Good luck. Can't wait to see you putting your hands on one (or two) of them on next seasons web show or DVD!
