    First thing is first
Where do you guys get your feathers? And how could i make my own? I was thinking crow feathers are nice and stiff, and easy to come by, as are turkey and Hawk feathers (from the wildlife center) how do i have to cut the vane to make it work?
i just got a Blitzenburger dial-o-fletch, i need to get a straight clamp for my blazers, but it has a right wing helical.
i am going to strip the paint off of my bear cedar arrows cause it happens anyway when i try to ge tthe glue off. Should I wrap them? or how do i go about cresting them? hehe
i am having way much fun with the "stuff" part of this, my shooting is getting better, still not great yet, but i am on the paper all the time at 20 yards, just need to tighten it up lol

Out of those 3 choices you would be best served with Turkey now if you can get some Goose feathers you will be better served as long as you dont bleach them as the bleach takes out the natural oils that make them extremely water resistant.

You need to splice them down the center of the quil then grind the base flat once that is done you need a feather burner to cut to shape.

The Blitz with Helical clamp will be fine just match up the right wing feather to the right wing clamp. Use fletching tape not glue to attach the feathers to the shaft it's quicker and a lot less mess:p

If you want too it's a personal thing;)

Thats the way to go your shooting will improve with time.
If you dont have it yet get Masters of the Barebow 3 it has some great advice in it from 2 of the best trad shooter out there and no I am not on the DVD:D

see that is GREAT news!! My family hunting group kills ALOT of geese!! lol
http://www.gatewayfeathers.com/accessories.html what about one of those guys to cut the feathers?
i found a pretty good source for Crested knocked arrows. So i think i might get into the making of arrows more, i thought making my own fletching might add a personal touch.
I can get duck wings too.....The blue on a mallards might add a cool touch lol

I get mine from the turkey I shoot. When Im low on turkey feathers, as i was this summer, I will buy good old fashion chicken feathers. With suggestions from Russ, I made up two arrows with goose feathers. Goose feathers work great too. I think Ill collect some this up comeing goose season and make up a mess of arrows with noting but goose feathers.
