I live a certain lifestyle and my wife, my partner, and I have to be on the same page, for the most part. If she happened to be religious (you should hear about the religion my wife was raised in  Yowza!) that could work but the religion, and what it entailed, would have to fit into our lifestyle. She could never expect me to be religious, though. My children have the option of following any religion if they so choose.

Contrary to what some may believe, I have nothing against religion or folks that are religious. As a matter of fact, I have a great deal of respect for those that actually live their beliefs but, as bigcountry suggested, most, the vast majority, go through the motions and, IMO, use religion only when it suits their purpose and will get them what they want, not because they believe in the tenets of their chosen religion.

This is me. I was anglican, she was catholic. In order to marry in the catholic church I had to convert. My response to this was "whatever I don't care". The catholic priest was cool about and said the anglicans are more catholic than the catholics are and then waved his magic church wand and declared me catholic. I kid you not. Well ok he didn't use a wand but you get the idea...:tu:
