My aunt was gonna have her Gall Bladder out today, got sick Thursday, and went to the doctor, seemed like she was doing okay, typical not feeling good that you get with a bad gall bladder but not CRITICAL or needing admitted. Well, Monday morning, everything changed....... She got VERY, VERY sick, and is now severely septic, on a ventilator, meds to keep her BP up, and very, very sick. She's very close with us, probably as much a grandmother to my kids as their own grandmothers are, and a very sweet lady. I hope God can guide the doctors in their procedures and minds to get her healed and able to resume the life she'd previously enjoyed. Sadly, she's one of the sickest people I've seen, and having worked in healthcare for over 15yrs, that's pretty damned sick. Health is a very fragile thing that we may too often take for granted, may God lay his healing hand on her and guide her along the path as she heals.
Thanks guys, she's gonna need all the prayers she can get, sounds as if she's backslid a bit today. God has a plan, we just sometimes don't realize it until long after it's revealed. She's in for a battle......
Not looking overly well, thanks for the prayers and well wishes guys. It just breaks my heart to see her like this. We go into see her, and she opens her eyes, and looks at us and just cries. Many people here may not have much experience with patients/people on ventilators, but most are sedated, however due to her low blood pressure until tonight, they were unable to sedate her. To see someone very special to you in such agony is truly heart breaking. I'm not by any means a tear factory, but I've had more than a couple tears trickle down my cheeks in the last couple days. Though my Aunt Linda still would put back a couple cold beers on occasion, she's not near the hell-raiser she'd been 20yrs. ago. Funny as myself and my cousin, my family and all of her friends gather together, we all share our silly stories, and as we reminisce, we just keep each other smiling at some of the silly things she'd do. I appreciate the support from a group that I consider "friends" here........
Sorry to hear Doug, thoughts and prayers go out to you, her, and everyone else struggling with this difficult situation.
Posting a little update, it looks like my Aunt has made it through the initial phase of nearly dying, and is now essentially stable, though her Kidney function is still severely impaired, and she is still having some lung issues, she's holding her own at this point. Continued prayers would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Guys, she's made it over the first and biggest hurdle, now we've just got to get weaned of the ventilator. She's a tough lady that is keeping up the fight for the time being. I just hope God can continue to guide her in her recovery and it be His will for her to make a full recovery.
