So i pulled my card this morning and hung a dripper on the scrape that was used last year then freshened the scrape. I moved my cam directly over the scrape and am excited to see what may visit it if anything. I looked at my card had 87 pics in the last week all does and fawns. But here's the kicker. There's a pic of a doe that has a weird spot in what looks like the exact spot i hit a doe last season and searched for for 2 days. She was quartering away and i hit her a little farther back than i wanted but i was sure it was a fatal shot at the time. Not so much now because I may have a pic of her now. Look at this pic and the spot behind her ribcage and tell me if its possible that its from an arrow. I'm hoping it is her and she survived.

That spot would almost exactly be the entrance hole of the doe I shot last season.

Its weird because on my tablet the spot is a lot more pronounced. Actually kinda hard to see on the uploaded version.

Hard to see on here. Is it about a 1/3 way up from her belly?

If you think it is the same than it probably is. There is definitely a mark behind the rib cage.

no its actually the one that is halfway up and further back. Almost by her back hip. When i shot her last year she was quartering pretty hard and i aimed for the opposite shoulder and was just a bit more left than i wanted. Could very well be a different deer but i hope not. I'm gonna look through my pics again and try to find a better one.

Could be? But an arrow there would kill her? Don't you think?

I'd think that shot would have killed her eventually, but who knows? I've also seen them survive some crazy things!!

I highly doubt it. Doesn't really look like a wound to me, and if that was a quartering shot, I don't think she would have survived.
I'd be trying to put an arrow through this one, looks like a big mama doe!

I also agree with a few others that that shot would've/should've killed her. At that angle it would've probably hit her intestines/liver and depending on the penetration into her vital cavity. But like they've said, deer can live through miraculous stuff.

I'm leaning towards the idea that this is a different doe. Even though the spot is almost exactly where I hit the other last year. I still believe that the doe I hit last year would've died from the shot I made. Unfortunately I made a rookie mistake and only waited 4 hours before taking up the trail and bumped her. :(

Thanks for the input and your opinions guys. Believe me I have plenty of room in the freezer for this lady this season. Haha

Nope the shot I'm describing was actually taken with a NAP Killzone.
