Let’s assume you have a buck decoy up and a doe spots it. Considering she is not in estrus yet will a doe consider going the other way because she doesn’t want to get harassed by the buck?

In other words, by putting a buck decoy up will my changes of harvesting a doe diminish?

Interesting. Any idea what the thought process is why a doe decoy would spook another doe? If anything I would assume they would feel safer.

For me, does have reacted better to a doe decoy than a buck, but the split is not that great. It seems that a majority of the time a doe will get spooked by the decoy. This time of year though, does should be trying to steer clear of any buck in the woods, and may not come investigate your setup if they see it.

Keep in mind I am putting the buck decoy out to attract bucks but I hope that doesn't minimize my chances of a doe walking by.
