Cost for a deer mount?

    Yes Ty, he's not too far at all from you. Maybe an hour and a half at the most.

    I can't wait to get this years buck back! I still got awhile to go :(

    My first deer mount 10 or 11 years ago was $275 my most recent from this year was $375.

    Cheaper ones around here these days are $300 the better taxidermists charge $375-$400 for standard commercial shoulder mounts.

    450 and 475 are the prices for the two guys I use in NW WI and they do great work. I'm interested in hearing if anyone has another great recommendation for quality work for less then that now that I'm living in the La Crosse, WI area.

    The good ones around me are in the $500-$650 range

    I will agree with this.

    My taxidermist does competition mounts for a little more than standard mounts and it is totally worth it.

    Just from looking at other friends' mounts compared to each other and mine I feel like you get what you pay for in this realm. Of course there will be some that charge a lot and suck but a little research can help weed them out.
    Looking for references and finding someone with a longer lead time will give some indication of the quality too.

    I know im paying 650 for a full turkey mount of it flying...I think he charges 500 to 600 for deer shoulder mount
