Post your thoughts...Sorry for the previously bad post. Feel like crap for posting that bad video without viewing it first.

News Anchor Bitten by Dog Received 70 Stitches, Mouth Stitched Shut

When Dyer bent down to kiss the dog’s nose, the 85-pound Argentine Mastiff named Max turned his head and bit into Dyer’s face, as his owner and rescuer watched in disbelief.

Dyer has received an outpouring of support from thousands of well-wishers on her Facebook page. Over the weekend, she took to the page to update them on her status.

“After a 4 hour surgery, I have 70 stitches in my upper lip, lower lip and nose,” Dyer wrote. “I am unable to talk because my mouth is stitched shut to allow for the skin graft to take and get the blood circulating in my lips again.

Dumbass dog owner that knows nothing about dogs lets a dumbass reporter that knows nothing about dogs make a dumbass move on a very stressed out dog and the dog does what dogs will do in that situation. Now the dog probably dies. Likely the best thing for that dog but, the dumbass owner will get another dog and the cycle will run again.

My wife and I do a lot of work with Dog Rescues. One of the first things you tell people is not to get into the dog's space. The dog in the video was fine and then a stranger puts her head next to his, this is often taken as a threat by the dog and will get a reaction. This happened to my little brother when he was 5 years old and he held a Family members German Shepherd and leaned in snap.

The handlers of this dog should have made sure there was no intimidating gestures. Sadly this dog will suffer for man's ignorance as posted.

Okay here is something that was I left out intentionally....The dog had a history of chasing coyotes and killing them. So is it hard not to believe that the dog hasn't killed other dogs?

What was far worst that many of the youths responses of seeing this video. Were advocating that the dog should have killed the reporter.

Something is definitely wrong with the morality core of today's youths.

Agreed, I have a dog that will kill a coyote in a heartbeat but has never been dog aggressive.

Exactly! Here, let me force my face onto a strange dog's face so I can kiss him. Dumbass. When people try to humanize dogs we usually get some kind of tragedy.

That's the point dog aggressive. I've been around plenty of dogs even at Lackland Air Force Base for security Police Training and they never used Dog aggressive Dogs for security work. They deemed them unpredictable. they had one they did try hard to retrain it didn't work out.

My point is some dogs are like people that commit crimes. Send a person to jail once and they get it and walk the straight and narrow for life. Then there those that repeatedly go to jail some can be helped and some you can't help.

I put this dog in the latter category. No dog should attack a person unless trained to do so or protect it's owner. And seen dogs that were dog aggressive my neighbor in Vet Med at Tech. Has a dog aggressive shiba inu if I spelled it right.

Has killed 2 deer fawns in the pasture across from her house, and attacked people, as well as dogs. But we have a complete understanding. I have a soft spots for all animals, but like with snakes and love them and against killing them.

But there's a limit to that love. Let's say we will agree to disagree on this one. Thanks for the responses.

    Extra...
I can't wait to see the comments on the daughter response video of her laptop being shot! She looks a lot older than 15...She looks 21 and no way in the world as a father should you allow your child to look and dress that way at 15.

Dogs are nothing like people. That's the problem, too many people try to humanize them or ascribe human emotions/thoughts/reasoning to them and that is where the trouble begins. Dogs don't like to be hugged nor do they like to be kissed on the face. They may tolerate it, and sometimes tolerate it well, but they don't like it.

Very true,....Only man have a brain to rationalize. Yet I still have my limits with any animal.

Had a friend in Florida with this HUGE Mastiff this dog was gigantic pussy cat. Kids would dive on him, feed him peanut butter sandwiches pull on him and never showed an ounce of aggression. Had one of the kids down the street got chased by a Pit..Logan seen it chased that Pit Bull into on coming traffic.

After the dog was hit and killed the Logan went home and laid on the porch. The little girl gave Logan a whole pack of bologna and cheese. This dog was the most..I even gave him a piece of pie once.

He eventually had to be put down kids was playing with him and saw a snake and screamed. Logan laid on the snake. The snake was a Eastern Diamondback.

    That dog was special

It took man 30,000 years to domesticate dogs, it's funny thought in there about man.

That dog seemed to be pretty happy, then something changed and it bit. I'd not trust such a dog personally. There was very little warning sign to that dog turning like it did. If it were my own dog, I'd have put a bullet in it myself. I wouldn't own an animal that I couldn't trust, and that dog ain't the "trustworthy" type of dog. I have a couple of Lab-Golden mixes that you can love on, wrestle with, and take food from their mouths, and they won't bite you, adult or child. But they are that way because they were raised to be that way.

Here is the problem. Dog doesn't know ignorant news lady and is in a high stress situation. Dog enjoys being pet but doesn't know that Ignorant lady is wanting to kiss him, what he sees is her moving in to possibly attack him and offers a warning bite. This often happens in dog on dog encounters and a dog that has not had strong human socializing can be prone to this reaction. The dog is not necessarily a bad animal, it is just an animal that has no understanding of human contact or intent.
