Next year I was going to do about half of my plot in corn. I was wondering if you guys have any specific varieties or companies that you prefer to use?

The short answer from me is...no, not really. I'm trying to move away from the GMO crap. The traits can be very convenient but I'm afraid a real crap storm is on the horizon for GMO crops. Syngeta has it's teet in a pinch right now and has caused a lot of widespread trouble because of one of it's GMO traits not being accepted by the China market. I mean, that's more from a cash crop perspective, the convenience of RR and triple stacked traits are still "convenient" and for food plotters doesn't really have any broad based repercussions that we know of. I still use Atrazine on my RR corn but I'm in an area where it's not restricted, that being the case I don't care about the RR trait. I'm concerned about GMO's in general though and they are so damned high priced that I'm going back to conventional corn this year. 2015 will be my third year back to conventional beans.

All that said, Pioneer corn has always been top of the line in my mind for corn.
