Anyone been to Cooperstown MLB hall of fame? I have a few hours to kill before I fly out of Albany wondering if the 1-1/2 hour drive is worth it?

Should be great during the week, and it's still off season so there shouldn't be much in the way of crowds.

You're gonna' Love It! My dad took me when I was about 12... and I keep going back!
There's a Farmer's Museum near there too that is very interesting.

I hope to be there by 1:00 or so. I have been doing a show in upstate New York for the last 10 years and it never fell in place to get to go, this year I am going.

You need more than a few hours to really see everything. I've been 3x, two of them were for Orioles HOF inductions (Brooks Robinson & Jim Palmer).

I got there in time to spend 3+ hours looking around, wow could not get over some of the stuff in there. Things that blew me away that I got to see, a Honas Wagner card that was a thrill to actually see the card, an original Norman Rockwell, Andy Warhol, and Leroy Neimond paintings. The two wood sculptures of Babe and Ted are amazing. I had to find a couple of plaques to see and pay my respects. The most important was my all time favorite player George Brett, they had his pine tar game bat there but was disappointed that they did not mention the George is the only player in the history of the game to win batting titles in 3 different decades. Well worth the drive and price of admission. I will not go back until Pete and Barry are in the hall.

Glad you enjoyed it. I am very happy to hear you made the trip. If nothing else about the entire museum it's very nicely done. The actual Hall of Fame at the end with all the bronzed members is my favorite part, it's classy, captures the nostalgia and to me is both somber and celebratory at the same time.

I don't think it is much of anything honestly. It's nice to have a "hall of fame", but its really not what you would expect. More of a honor for players inducted than a sight seeing thing. I've been there a bunch of times. You could spend an hour there and be pretty much out of things to look at and do. Very small and probably not what you would think it was.

Are you a baseball fan, or just a slight interest? I looked at every single exibit and was in awe, baseball is a nostalgic game if you are into the history of the game. I have been on some boats that were worth over a million $ but seeing the Honas Wagner card in person was more awesome than any boat I have seen with the exception of an old wood Hatteras.
