Aside from shooting them, what is a good way to keep raccoon away from my deer corn? I'm not against shooting them I just dont want to contaminate the area with my scent. Thanks in advance, Chris

SUNP0001.jpg Nevermind, I first viewed the pic on my cell phone so it was too small to actually see what it was... Turns out, it's a groundhog. I don't know if there are seasons on these guys or not in Ok yet.

Groundhog can be quite tasty. I've eaten more than my share in my day.

set up a pile of rice bran. coons cant eat that cuz they have no salavary glands and rice bran is very dry, therefore they cannot eat it

Thanks alexjoelslaydon, thats new info for me, I appreciate it. Well sad to say that the groundhogs days of stealing apples are over... poor guy met his end today as I was walking down to put more stuff down. Not to brag but it was a 54yd shot, lol. I seriously felt like Bill Murray in caddyshack this week.

don't use corn I guess....I have the same issue on my feeder in my back yard. Set it up for fun to see some deer at my house, and the coons just ravage it. Climb up it and everything...got old so I stopped. Apples?

if the coons happen to move in and start eating the corn go get urself a live trap. Set it up on the tree line cover it up good and throw a donut in the back of it. It wont spook the deer and after you catch a coon just relocate it down the road bout 10 miles.
