As a "kid" I am sticking with the preteen years. I reserve the right to add more bad *** retro stuff to my list.
Boy that brings back some memories. I forgot all about the Ultimate warrior, I used to idolize him way back when I thought wrestling was real.
Why Buckeye.... you're just a baby. I remember the first TV in the area. I believe it was a 7 inch deal. I can't say neighborhood because I lived in the sticks. I remember the Ed Sullivan show, Roy Rogers, Gene Autry, Cisco Kid etc etc etc. I remember party line telephone service. We heated the house with a wood stove but converted to coal in the dead of the winter. I remember my mom writing me that my relatives in the Gatanaw in Canada got electricity while I was in Vietnam for my first tour.Oh you want music, that was Pat Boone, Guy Lombardo. Movies were Picnic, Oklahoma, Ben Hur etc etc. What red blooded American boy didn't fantasize over Kim Novak. Drugs of the day were beer. We could drink at 18. You're just a baby. LOL I remember when we came to a Burma Shave set of signs... everyone in the car would read them with anticipation. Plain old popcorn. Candy cigarettes. Trapping muskrats. I could go on forever. Moms homemade bread toasted over the wood coals in the stove for breakfast. I was 22 and a Lt. in Uncle Sams Army when I got my first car... a Triump Spitfire.
Masters of the universe, hands down fantastic! I have battle cat that is on springs you can ride still.....yeah its bad ***! Dont make me post pictures of it.
I forgot the original Mickey Mouse Club with Anette. Hubba hubba. She sent more boys to the restroom than anyone ever. LOL
Starter jackets were the big thing. Everyone had one. My little sis had charlotte hornets, my older sis had phoenix suns, and I had a dallas cowboys
