Well.. today was my 29th birthday.. I know.. please don't make a big deal of it.. just had to explain why I got this gift..

My wife got me a few small things.. as I ask for nothing ever..

Well.. one of the gifts was "Wild America".. hosted by Marty Stouffer.

Heck Ya! This was like my favorite show growing up as a kid. Watched it on WTTW religiously in my youth.. even remember the whitetail episode like the back of my hand.

Just thought i'd give the heads up.. I'm currently watching "Wild America".. disc 3.. "Pennsylvania whitetails"..

So.. until next time.. "Enjoy our wild america".

It's always nice to get a gift like that. Or socks. You can never have to many socks.

That's all I ever ask for.

Damn dude! I almost forgot to wish you a happy birthday! Jill and I just got back from celebrating ours....though a few years older than you! She's 31 and I'm 32.

I will never forget the nights watching Wild America with my older brother, Jeff. The episode that sticks out most in my mind was with the fishers. I will never forget how amazed I was when I learned how they attack porcupines. Great memories.

Happy Birthday brother!!!! :birthday: :birthday: :birthday:

Danno.. this was not supposed to be about birthdays. (shaking my fist).

But.. I unlike you I did remember it was yours too.

So.. happy birthday to you and your lovely wife. We Aquarius(es) have to stick together.

And seriously.. watching this show again brings back so many memories. It's good stuff!

My buddy just got that for his Bday. I snatched those up from him REAL quick. I'm through the first two years.

    Marty Stouffer is a machine.

Happy birthday Duke, And Dan, and Jill...

Duke. :birthday: I have the flu on your birthday, sorry.

Enjoy the DVD's though. Sounds as though you already are!

I really am beginning to wonder whether or not I watched TV as a kid. I can't remember what shows I watched....

Wasn't our pal Marty Stoufer accused of drugging and/or staging a lot of animals for the taping of that show? I could've swore I remember hear or reading that awhile back. Anyone know if there's any truth in it??

Regardless, that was one of my favorite shows growing up as a kid as well. I think it's great that he looks just like my old man from back in the day, beard and all. :tu:

And happy b-day my friends.

Much of Marty's stuff was staged. Penned animals mostly. (and fish tanks)

It annoyed me. I was never much of a fan of his. (or the crocodile hunter dude) I'm cranky that way.

    Happy B'day!

I always liked that show too. And I always wondered how he was in the right place at the right time to capture those animals doing those things.

Thanks Christine, you just ruined it for me. :smash:

And Happy Birthday to the 3 of you!:birthday: :nana:

    Happy B-Day!

And man is that show a good one. Controversy or not, everything has a dark side. I like the movie better though.

Happy birthday! Yeah, that was a good show still worth watching. It's kinda nice when you get something like that unexpectedly. Sorta sweetens the gift.
