The other day I downloaded this free 3D Design software. It took a bit of getting used to (I do a lot of 2D work), but I constructed my plans for a new Deer Stand that I'm planning on building this spring. Here it is...

The program is Google SketchUp 7. SketchUp Pro costs $$ but the regular version is FREE! I got it for my Mac but they have PC versions too. Check it out:cool:

Dude, I say you got the hang of it. That looks beautiful.

I tried it for about two sessions, didn't have the patience with it and gave up. I ended up un-installing it a few days ago. Figured I would just stick with the old pencil and paper when I am designing stuff up.

    Congrats, looks great.

That won't work. There is no deer around it. No trees, shrubs, fields? Nothing. It just stops like ten feet away?!

the only thing I would add is sides to prevent the wind from getting to you. But I do envy you having the ability to put up a stand.

I left the sides low so I don't run into any problems with limb clearance. I think I may fashion some adjustable windows (large versions of what you find in the Choice Blind) to help with wind/cover. I was very impressed with how quiet those windows were and how easy they were to adjust.
